Burg Strahlegg

Leisurely circular hike from Küblis first towards Conters and then towards Fideris. In Fideris Strahlegg lives the well-known woodcut artist Marco Walli, who is also the lord of the castle.

Description

From Küblis, cross the Landquart bridge to the left into Conterserstrasse. There the old road climbs to Rungalätsch, after about 100 m across the road turn left and climb the old path up to Brunnen. From the road it now turns right and leads practically horizontally over Heldenhof, Pargüetscha, Boden, and gently downwards to Stralegg, and down to Unterstrahlegg, further over the road to the Dalvazza bridge (the bridge is a three-hinged arch bridge with a hollow box and was planned and built in 1929/1930 by the company Westermann & Cie.) and further through the Tuss back to Küblis.

There is a wonderful playground and barbecue area in the Tuss.

Easy and well-marked hiking trails. Do not leave the marked route in poor visibility.

Good footwear, mountain hiking clothing adapted to the season, and a map in your backpack are recommended.

The Landquart Bridge Dalvazza is a so-called quadruple girder construction. The project is written by the construction business Nicolaus Hartmann & Cie. from St. Moritz. Nicolaus Hartmann (1880-1956) is the most important Graubünden architect of the early 20th century.
