26 art treasures from the Kingdom of Dahomey will leave Paris in November 2021 and return to their country of origin, present-day Benin. Along with thousands of other items, they were looted by French colonial troops in 1892. But how should the returning objects be received, in a country that has changed a lot during their absence?

The Golden Bear of the Berlinale 2024: In her enchanting documentary, French-Senegalese director Mati Diop takes on an explosive topic – the decolonization of European museums. She weaves a beguiling, haunting meditation on identity, ancestry and the meaning of history.
