800 years of Klosters: Lifeline Via Valtellina

In the anniversary year 2022, the Via Valtellina-Säumer-Tour leads for the first time from the Austrian Gargellen via the Schlappiner-Joch to Klosters. This is the first time that the entire Via Valtellina is being walked, as recorded in the inventory of Switzerland's historical transport routes. In Schlappin, the first Walser settlement in Prättigau, visitors and participants gain insight into the Walser and Säumer culture and can enjoy typical Walser dishes before the convoy sets off with the horses towards the valley and moves through the village. Once in Klosters, the Säumerfest begins on the Bahnhofplatz. A spectacle for young and old from near and far with live music, carriage rides and a mule exhibition in the tent. On the Following Sunday, the mules will make their way to Valtellina with their mule

horses.On the afternoon of 16 July 2022, four guided programme items will take place in Schlappin, the oldest Walser settlement in Prättigau, which is inhabited all year round.
