For Anton Bruckner's music, you need a large space so that it can unfold in all its beauty. Its sounds are like Gothic cathedrals: mighty, uplifting, striving upwards. With "Tota pulchra es", "Locus iste" and "Os justi", three motets by the composer will be heard in the church of St. Jakob. They will be sung by the Zurich Chambers Singers (conductor: Christian Erny), who attracted international attention with their album "Bruckner Spektrum". From the 19th century, the focus is on the expressive music of Paul Mealor and back to the artistic, mobile motets of Johann Sebastian Bach. Christian Schmitt, principal organist of the Bamberg Symphony, plays the organ part. The renowned German organist was "Artist in Focus" of the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich in 2021 and has already performed with the Berlin Philharmonic. Schmitt has also been a guest of the Klosters Organ Friends. One can look forward to his interpretation of Bach's Prelude and Fugue in E flat major BWV 552 and the well-known Toccata in D minor BWV 565.
