On the Grüsch-Danusa high plateau, you will find a varied panoramic winter hiking route with a 360° view of the Prättigau and Rhine valley. Details
Description
Since the winter hiking route is located on a high plateau, the view of the mountains changes every 500 meters. Depending on the location, you look down into the Rhine valley or upstream to Klosters in the Silvretta mountains. The highlight is the view of the Rätikon. Why the imposing mountain massif is often referred to as the "Bündner Dolomites" becomes immediately clear when you see it.
In the middle of the large loop of the winter hiking trail is the "White Oasis". It is located in a magnificent mountain landscape and gives strength and relaxation.
Cable car
From the starting point, the Berghaus Schwänzelegg at 1800 meters, you can reach an exhilarating and peaceful winter landscape in just 10 minutes. To the Schwänzelegg mountain station, take the gondola from Grüsch or Cavadura. Pedestrians/hikers can purchase a pedestrian ticket. By the way: every Wednesday, the silver foxes (64 years and older) receive a 50% discount on the day ticket and gondola ride.
Insider tips
Search game "Find the Fox"
On the popular panoramic route, there have been hand-painted signs by the artist Urban Troxler since the 2022/23 season, which provide information about the names of the surrounding mountains. The Danusa fox is also hidden on the signs. A search game for young and old awaits.
